MOTHER and daughter duo Tristen Wearne and Stephanie Hester have played countless rounds of golf together but none may have been more special then on Sunday.
In their first involvement in the Victorian Family Championship held at Barwon Heads, the pair blitzed the field to win the ladies division.
And Tristen couldn't have been anymore pleased.
“It's always nice to win but to win with my daughter makes it that extra bit special,” she said.
“After watching her grow and seeing her learn the game it's great we are able to share these types of experiences together.
“Golf is a sport you can play with anyone on any day but when you pay with your family it helps bring you closer together.
“Winning this trophy is something I'll certainly never forget.”
With players competing under four-ball rules, Tristen said it often didn't matter if one of the pair were off their game.
“I thought we combined really well throughout the day,” she said.
“If one of us had a poor hole, the other usually picked up the slack. Despite a few rough patches we managed to pull through.
“When the other was down, we made sure to pick each other up.”
