EMERGENCY services were called to Turpin Falls yesterday when a man was injured after jumping from a cliff face into the water.

Malmsbury police confirmed the 25-year-old man jumped between 20 to 25 metres from the rock face into black water.

They said the man injured himself when hitting the water but was able to walk out unassisted.

He was treated for back injuries and taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition.
