WOW! What a term we've had at Colbinabbin Primary School. We’d love to share some of our highlights.
Grades 3 and 4 joined children from Campaspe Cluster and headed to Billabong Ranch for their three-day camp.
They went camel riding, bungee trampolining, pedal boat sailing, played mini golf, visited the animal nursery and the Port of Echuca. A big thank you to Miss Glenn, who was ‘in loco parentis’ while children were away.
We held our AFL Footy Colours day on Tuesday, September 10 to coincide with our Sporting Schools AFL Football Clinic. The children loved the clinic and a range of activities was organised by school captains Jack and Bella.
Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths
Grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 children have been busy during STEM time, designing and constructing their model solar boats for the 2019 Model Solar Vehicle Challenge. The challenge will be held at Scienceworks in Spotswood on October 19 and 20, with hundreds of students competing.
We are extremely proud of our strong reading culture. The Victorian Premier's Reading Challenge was recently held across the state. Every child who was able completed the challenge. We look forward to awarding them their certificates in term four.
Campaspe Cluster Science Day
We had another fantastic Campaspe Cluster Science Day with non-stop learning and fun. In six 25-minute sessions we helped 190 children make a kaleidoscope! The beautiful patterns gave children an introduction to light and reflection.
Children also made bouncy balls and learnt how to make a lava lamp. They found out about force and the planets.
Well done to all our children but especially to our staff: Mrs Morgan, Miss Glenn, Miss Andrews and Mr Pettigrew.
