Swanpool Fine Art Exhibition

By Simon Ruppert

The Swanpool Art Festival kicked off last Saturday with three unique exhibitions focusing on works by talented locals.

The SCRAP Art Prize, Fine Art Exhibition and Broken River Painters exhibitions are open until August 18.

North East Fine Artists member Tim Bowtell, of St James Silo Art fame, said the exhibition grew from an idea to showcase local artists.

"We wanted it to run in conjunction with the SCRAP Art Prize and the Broken River Painters Exhibition, to create a bit of an arts festival," Mr Bowtell said.

"So we invited a few local artists and they all happily accepted our invitation to exhibit.

"And it's great to have the exhibition be this well supported.

"All the artworks are for sale and the North East Fine Arts group will get a small commission from each item sold."

The exhibition is on display at the Swanpool Bowls Club, right in between the SCRAP Art Prize Exhibition in the Swanpool Community Hall, and the Broken River Painters Exhibition at the Albert Heaney Oval.

It will be open from 10am to 4pm until August 18 and entry is a gold coin donation.
