IN PEREFCT weather at Heathcote Bowling Club on Thursday, 12 teams contested the Ladies Triples Tournament, with thanks to sponsorship from McIvor Meats.
Teams included visitors from Bendigo East, Seymour, Avenel, Wallan, Bendigo, Broadford and Golden Square.
The tournament was played over three games of 10 ends with rotating skippers.
At the end of the day two teams had managed to win all three games and only one point separated them.
The winning team from Broadford consisted of Jenny Dorrens, Phyllis Wolfe and Hannah Green (three wins, 141 points).
A team from Bendigo East finished runner-up and consisted of Betty Bodinnar, Peter Judd and Joan Judd (three wins, 140 points).
The tournament was a most successful day and the Heathcote Bowling Club would like to thank McIvor Meats for their continued support.
On Wednesday, in fine and warm conditions, 16 bowlers played three games of pairs.
On the points system the winners were Greg Speirs (s) and Kelvin Hamilton (two wins, 36 points, +23 shots).
Runners-up were Smokey Dawson (s) and John Hutson (two wins, 33 points, +7 shots), from John McGillivray (s) and Frank Cutajar (two wins, 33 points, +4 shots). The jackpot was not won.
In near perfect weather conditions on Saturday, 13 bowlers enjoyed three games of pairs and triples.
The winners were Smokey Dawson (s) and Derek Blakeman (three wins, 42 points, +7 shots).
Runners-up were Grant Baker (s) and Les Morante (3 wins, 42 points, +5 shots).
The jackpot was not won and will be $200 today.
