HEATHCOTE Golf Clubs stableford event on Tuesday February 12 was won by Shane Morris with 36 points off a handicap of 13. Balls were won by Kris Mueck (35 off + 4), Chris Phillips (35 off 10) and Bryce Pianta (34 off 11). Kris Mueck won nearest the pin on the 18th.
On Wednesday, the ladies played stroke for the last round of the Summer Cup, with Carol Stuart keeping up her usual good form, winning the day with 96-19-77. Runner-up was Helen Carlin with 111-30-81. Carol Stuart won nearest the pin on the 18th with Rosie Hill nearest the pin on the 8th and second shot on the 18th.
Son Quach won Thursdays competition with 38 off 9, while Mick Tobin won B division with a great 44 off 22. Balls went to: Shane Morris, Alan Stobaus, Chris Phillips and Adrian Goudie all with 37; Terry Schiels, Adrian King and Joe Zurek with 36. Birdies went to John Blundell, Son Quach, Mick Tobin and Chris Phillips. Par Balls went to Paul Wintle and Martin Sims. Chris Phillips scored nearest the pin on the 18th.
Saturdays ladies winner was Amanda Long with a brilliant 41 points off 32. The runner-up was Carol Stuart with 34 points off 19 and 2nd runner-up was Helen Carlin with 33 off 30.
Saturdays mens A division winner was Shane Morris with 37 off 13; B division winner was Michael Chilcott with 39 off 27. Balls were awarded to Terry Schiels, Geoff Cutting, Ian Furneaux, Dan ONeill, Kent Davies, Brian Davis and John Gaston. Nearest the pins went to: Mitch Hogg; Shane Morris, Daniel Pianta (A grade on the 18th); Phil Coleman (B Grade on the 18th). Mitch Hogg and David Clouston scored birdies on the 13th; Adrian Goudie on the 18th and Michael Chilcott scored a par on the 18th. Steve Hudson scored an eagle on the first and John Blundell an eagle on the 6th. It was a nice present for John who turns 92 on Friday. We wish him a very Happy Birthday and hope he continues to play golf for a long time.
Players are reminded of the Open Amateur Challenge 36-hole event on Saturday. Players are to assemble at 8.30am for 9am hit off.
Sundays social golf Australias day event in division one was won by Adrian King with nett 73; and in division two the winner was Mark Gremmola with nett 70; and in C grade the winner was Peter Russell with nett 67. Danielle Bell won the ladies C Grade with 73 nett, followed by Dawn Hudson 73 and Amanda Long 79. Yvonne Yip was the best lady in B Grade with 77.
We will all be dressed in pink mid-March as we raise funds for Breast cancer. Pink Wednesday will also be the ladies summer presentation day so please bring a plate for lunch.
Saturdays Pink Day, March 16th, is proudly and generously sponsored by Mary Dent of the Commercial Hotel and will be a great fun day for such a worthy cause. Prizes will be awarded for best pink dressed lady, man and golf buggy, longest straightest drive, NTP all par 3s. Snacks after the game.
