THAT’S a wrap for 2018.

Heathcote Football Netball Club has finished four hard weeks of pre-season, with their final training session and barbecue held on Thursday.

The last month has seen 40 different players take part in pre-season with an average of 25 players per training session, which indicates determination and commitment for the year ahead.

At the recent AGM, the following positions were elected: Rebecca Dickinson, president; John McCarthy, vice-president; Heidi Pianta-Cook, secretary; and Sharon Bibby, treasurer.

Committee members include Roland De Man, Darren Lewis, Brett Kelly, Alex McIvor, Brice Pianta, Marilyn Freeman, Betty Tobin, Carl Obst, Mick Ayres, Lisa Cannon, Dean Bibby and Danielle Mawson.

All football coaches have been appointed and the club is thrilled to have secured Wayne Primmer as the senior coach for 2019. Assisting him is Codie Price.

The reserves coaches are confirmed as Nick Malavisi and Mick Ayres.

Darcy McLean and Louis Piccolo will coach the under 17 side.

In 2019 the Saints will field both an under 12 and an under 14 team in the Bendigo Junior Football League. They will be holding registration days after Christmas.

The club has also been busy attracting new players to Barrack Reserve. Confirmed are Codie Price (Sandhurst), Dylan Robinson (Mulwala), Jordan and Kai Cavallaro (Newbridge) and Pat Cummins.

The Saints continue to talk to several players and look forward to announcing new recruits in the New Year.

With last Thursday being a washout, the launch of the new netball court, together with tryouts for A, A-reserve, B and B reserve grades, were rescheduled to the following Tuesday. An update will be provided soon.

Finally, Lorrae Closter has signed on to once again take charge of the senior netballers in 2019.

The coaching appointments for the lower grades will be filled closer to the season.

The club has been thrilled with the response to the netball trials, but are always on the lookout for future Saints if anyone wants to come down to Barrack Reserve to try out.
