SATURDAY saw the men play stroke in the play-off for the medal of medallists at Heathcote Golf Club.
The winner was Daniel Pianta with 72-4-68. A great field contested the weekly competition won by Daniel Pianta (A grade), Tony Hunter 87-18-69 (B grade) and Tom Tobin 98-30-68 (C grade). Adrian Goudie scored an eagle on the 10th and John Blundell a par on the 18th. It was lovely to see so many visitors from Melbourne enjoying our course and their weekend in Heathcote.
Sue Green scored a wonderful win on Saturday with 42 points off a handicap of 34, followed by runner-up Jan Case with 40 points off 45. Carol Stuart scored nearest the pin on the 8th with Sue Green nailing it on the 18th.
■ ON TUESDAY, December 4, R Clarke was the winner of the day with 37 points off a handicap of 19. Balls were awarded to C Phillips, B Gaunt, I Furneaux and D Baker.
■ ON WEDNESDAY, the ladies played for the monthly medal, which was ably won by Carol Stuart 90-19-71.
Carol had a great day, as in addition to winning the monthly medal, she was also nearest the pin on the 18th and 8th holes and won the Birds Nest for scoring a birdie on the 8th.
The runner-up was Lynne Fouracre followed by Cathy Shaddock on a count-back from Jan Case. Nearest the pin second shot on the 18th was won by Joyce Safstrom.
If Carol maintains this winning streak things are looking promising for Carol in today’s Medal of Medallists event.
■ THURSDAY’S competition was won by G Ellis 76-6-70. Balls went to D Pianta T Hunter and P Rolfe. Nearest the pin was won by A Stobaus.
■ ON SATURDAY, December 22, Heathcote Golf club will enjoy a Christmas break-up after golf with the drawing of the raffle.
