HEATHCOTE punters who enjoy heading to the Bendigo Greyhound Racing Association will be happy to know the State Government is investing in upgrades at the facility.

The government is providing almost $34,000 from its Victorian Racing Industry Fund towards the $68,000 package to upgrade the PA system and CCTV in the catching pen area.

The digital PA system was installed in April and the CCTV was installed in early 2018 to help improve integrity and animal welfare.

Greyhound Racing Victoria is contributing more than $34,000 towards the two infrastructure upgrades.

The racing industry in the Loddon region helps to sustain more than 1640 full-time equivalent jobs locally.

“Country racing is an important part of our community, which is why we’re investing in upgrades that strengthen infrastructure and integrity measures,” Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan said.
