Thieves hit takeaway

By McIvor Times

AROUND 4:20am last Tuesday thieves broke in to the Oval Takeaway in Heathcote.

The door of the popular eatery, which is made of glass, was smashed to provide a gateway inside.

Owner and operator Dean Segafredo expressed his anger and disappointment.

“They took $900 in cash, drinks, meat and even some of my power tools,” he confirmed. ‘‘Around $3000 of cash and goods were stolen’’.

“I don’t know why anyone would do something like this. They even smashed our TV. ”

Mr Segafredo confirmed the cash was in a safe. “I had this amount onsite as we couldn’t get to the bank on Monday, it was a public holiday,” he said.

“I’ve only had four days off in seven months. I’m insured, but I just don’t need this. I would just love to find out who did it so I can ask why.”
