Police are currently at the scene of a head on collision in Graytown this afternoon.
The collision took place on Heathcote-Nagambie Road about 2.30pm.
Three occupants in an SUV were travelling toward Nagambie when it appears a ute travelling in the opposite direction has come around a corner and veered onto the wrong side of the road.
A female occupant of the SUV died at the scene, the two other female occupants are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The male driver and only occupant of the ute is being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The exact cause of the collision is yet to be determined and is being investigated by Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives.

Bendigo-Murchison Road or Seymour-Tooborac Road are the best alternatives for east/west traffic.
