DESPITE the onset of cooler wintery conditions, 13 bowlers played three games of pairs and triples on Wednesday.

DESPITE the onset of cooler wintery conditions, 13 bowlers played three games of pairs and triples on Wednesday.

The only team to win all 3 games were Bill Gardiner (s) and Dinah Finn (three wins, 45 points, +23 shots).

Runners-up were Greg Speirs (s) and Kelvin Hamilton (two wins, 33 points, +10 shots) from Lorraine Speirs (s) and Ken Reader (2 wins, 33 points, +6 shots).

The jackpot was not won and will be $60 today.

Saturday June 2:

On Saturday 17 bowlers played three games of pairs and triples with just one team winning all three games.

Ray Anderson, Denise Anderson and Illona Hutterer took on all before them, racking up 40 points, plus 11 shots. Bill Gardiner and Neville Smith teamed up to finish runner-up with 29 points, plus 5 shots.

First Winter Tournament.

On Sunday, 16 teams from around the region took part in the first winter tournament.

At the end of play only one team had four wins. Taking home the money was the team formed by Bill Gardiner, Kelvin Hamilton and Brian Taylor.

Runner-up was the team consisting of Alan Perry, Brett Mathieson and Les Morante, and they also pocketed some cash. The club would like to thank the sponsors for the day, Mitre 10 Heathcote and Gaffneys Bakery and Pie Kitchen. Next months tournament is filling fast.
