COCKATOOS were to blame for an Optus outage in the Heathcote area last week.
Optus technicians were on site at a local tower in Kyneton to investigate the cause of service interruptions for some Optus customers on Friday.
“Upon investigation, it appears that local cockatoos have chewed through all six radio antenna cables the tower uses to provide service to the area,” an Optus spokesperson said.
Technicians worked to implement a solution and Optus thanked customers for their patience in the meantime.
While the outage was in Kyneton, it also affected the Heathcote tower at Mt Ida.
