INCLEMENT weather kept the ladies away from Heathcote Golf Club on Saturday with only three — Dot Trott, Marg Sims and Helen Carlin — taking part in a stableford round. Marg Sims was victorious with 39 points.

A total of 22 men braved the elements with the winner again being Kris Mueck with 37 points.

Ball competition winners were: Gerard Ellis and Willie Laird 36 points and John Gastin 35 points.

Birdie balls went to: Gerard Ellis (8th hole), Kris Mueck (16th) and John Gastin (16th). Par balls went to Ron Blachford.

Nearest the pins winners were: Phil Coleman (13th); Kris Mueck (16th); and on the 18th: Adrian Goudie (A grade and Superpin); Phil Coleman (B grade); and Terry Shiels (C grade).

■ A STABLEFORD round was played last Thursday by 22 players.

The winner was Kris Mueck with 40 points off a handicap of +4. Well done, Kris — practice makes perfect.

Birdie balls went to: Kris Mueck (2nd, 8th, 16th and 18th holes) and Adrian King (8th hole).

■ LAST Wednesday, 14 ladies played Pottose. A variety of results were posted suggesting that not all the ladies actually know how to play it.

It is expected Pottose will be played again this season and hopes are high the ladies will receive clearer instructions this time.

Doreen Schiele won a ball for nearest the pin, second shot on the 18th.

■ ON MONDAY, May 14, the fifth round was played of the Heathcote Golf Club ladies pennant in division three.

Belvoir Park proved too strong for the Heathcote ladies with Belvoir Park winning three games to two.

Dot McGillivray, Helen Carlin and Amanda Long did their best but came second in their game while Regina Driver and Daphne Hall came up trumps in their game.

The team finished second overall and the club would like to congratulate all players who participated in pennant this year.
