Demons are too powerful

Heathcote's Brittany Shaddock repels another Mounts forward assault.

IT WAS another tough game for Heathcote’s A grade netballers on the weekend against an exceptionally strong White Hills side.

The Demons stepped up their defence and pressure, which forced the Saints to work really hard.

It didn’t stop Heathcote from losing its head, though, with the Saints staying positive.

The Heathcote players kept pushing and supported one another. Felicity Hasthorpe and Tammy had a hard gig in the goal ring but once they had that ball they were on.

Lorrae Closter, Tyler McKeown and Britt Shaddock played another smart game in the midcourt, copping all the hard hits and didn’t stop running all day.

Chan Whiting and Tanya O’Halloran combined awesome together in defence and played a ripper match against the very tall Demons goal shooter and super zippy goal attack — there wasn’t much else they could do.

The final score saw White Hills defeat Heathcote 73-23.

This week the girls have the week off for the interleague bye.

With a few winnable games coming up after the break, the Saints will need to stay focused and keep pushing themselves.

Player of the match went to the loud and handy wing defence Britt Shaddock.
