MEMBER for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes is urging local sustainability stars to enter the 2018 Premier’s Sustainability Awards and spotlight the breadth of environmental success across the region.
“I know northern Victoria there are many individuals, schools, community organisations and companies that are making a difference and doing exciting and rewarding sustainability work,’’ Ms Symes said.
“The Premier’s Sustainability Awards are there for people to share their efforts and be recognised for them.
“Our schools, businesses and community groups have a lot to be proud of when it comes to sustainability – let’s tell their stories and inspire others through Victoria’s most celebrated sustainability awards program.”
Now in their 16th year, the awards are open in 10 categories:
■Innovative products or services
■Small and medium enterprises
“I’m so proud that there are many local sustainability leaders and, with a category for everyone and every group, I would be delighted to see them enter this year,” Ms Symes said.
“The Victorian Premier’s Sustainability Awards are a great way to demonstrate how passionate and committed we are to reducing our environmental footprint, helping to stop the effects of climate change and creating a more liveable, engaged, prosperous community.
