IT’S a garage sale on a large scale.
The Heathcote Queen Meadow caravan park will become a bargain hunter’s haven on Easter Saturday with a garage sale.
There’s sure to be something for everyone — from books and plants to camping gear and even a port-a-loo.
And if bargain hunting gets too much, there’s a Devonshire tea and sausage sizzle with proceeds going to the childcare centre.
“The residents at the caravan park have been very chatty about what they’ve got and everyone is making sure they have the correct prices for their items,” organiser Trish Ring said.
“There’s going to be a huge array of items available, some people have said they’ve got trailers and another one said they have a couple of cars they’re wanting to sell.’’
But there’s also the chance for locals to clean out their houses and contribute on the day.
For a $10 booking fee — which is donated to the childcare centre — residents can book a site to sell their wares.
“At this stage it’s just been an idea which has grown and grown,” Trish said.
“We hope there are a people who’ll take to the idea of having a garage sale on a large scale and come pick up a bargain.”
But for those looking to clean out their house, you’d better be organised because the bookings are being finalised by tonight — although you’ll have until Saturday to organise your items.
The sale will be on from 8am-2pm on March 31 at 3 Barrack St.
