Mascots ready for run

March 15, 2018

Priscilla and Fazzi are much loved mascots of the O'Keefe Challenge and Heathcote Community Games.

PRISCILLA and Fazzi, much loved mascots of the O’Keefe Challenge and Heathcote Community Games, and their team have been working together tirelessly over the past 12 months to help provide loads of free entertainment.

With the O’Keefe Challenge finishing on the oval this year, there is loads of space and scope for more activities.

Some of the free events include Kelly sports activities, playzone, rock climbing wall and roving magician.

Kelly sports will bring crazy circus, radical relays and awesome animal games and, of course, the ever popular parachute game. The eight-metre rock climbing wall creates a unique experience for the whole family with five different climbs to choose from. Getting to the top and ringing the bell lets everyone know you made it. For the young ones there is Playzone, a portable blow-up playground, incorporating 15 activities.

Show Off Entertainment are back. Justin Showman will be roving through the area during the day providing close-up and interactive entertainment, including loads of magic and illusions and some of the best balloon twisting you will see.

There are also community events. The Lions Mile is one for those with sheer speed on their minds. It’s an event for anyone who wants to give the mile their best shot. This year organisers have changed the course and added a bit of a challenge.

Lions 1km is for primary school-aged children. They can run and possibly win prize money for their school.

The Super Heroes 500m dash (around the oval) is for the littlies five and under. Participants are encouraged to dress as their super hero. Mums and dads are welcome to encourage and participate with their children.

The very special Wenlock Tribute Race is to honour women in sport. Dress up as your favourite female sports star and run a lap around our beautiful Barrack Reserve oval. Male or female participants are welcome, as long as they are registered and showing they are honouring a woman in sport past or present.

Participants in all events will receive a finisher’s medal.

Priscilla, Fazzi and their friends will be making guest appearances during the day.

So, if you are out for some fun for the family, put Sunday, April 22 in the diary now. For more information and to pre register visit or [email protected]

Registrations will also be available on the day.
