IN ALMOST perfect weather conditions, 12 teams contested the IGA sponsored Invitation 4s at Heathcote Bowling Club on Sunday.
Playing 4 games of 10 ends, the teams included visiting players/teams from Colbinabbin, Stanhope, Glenroy, Seymour VRI, Seymour, Lockington, Avenel, White Hills and Rushworth.
While no team was able to win all four games, four teams managed to win three and on the points system fourth place went to Brian Taylor of Heathcote with 143 points.
Third place was secured by Mark Anderson of White Hills on 145 points while first and second place had to be decided based on number of shots up as each finished on the same number of points.
In the end, second place went to Greg Fitzpatrick from Stanhope who finished with 146 points and +22 shots. First place honours went to John McGillivray (s), Deryl Binney, Glen Saunders and Grant Baker of Heathcote who completed the day with 146 points and +37 shots.
The bowling club would like to congratulate the winners and extend many thanks to IGA for their continuing support of the club.
On Wednesday in fine and warm conditions, 11 players contested 3 games of pairs and triples. The winners were Dot Cutajar (s) and Nev Smith (two wins, 1 draw, 36 points, +9 shots). Runners-up were Ray Anderson (s), Denise Anderson and Greg Speirs (two wins, 32 points, +8 shots). The jackpot was not won.
In hot conditions on Saturday, 11 bowlers played three games of pairs and triples. On the points system, the winners were new bowler Hal Dihn (s) who teamed up with Rod Hanson (two wins, 33 pints, +4 shots), while the runners-up were Eileen O’Brien (s), Brian Taylor and Lorraine Speirs (two wins, 30 points, +1 shot). The jackpot was not won and will be $200 today.

The AGM will be held on Sunday, May 27 at 2pm and nominations for various committee positions are now open.
