LOCAL drivers are urged to check their cars for faulty Takata airbags, because they may need replacing.
The announcement from the government follows a recommendation from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission after an intense investigation.
Certain vehicles from the major companies BMW, Chrysler, Dodge, Ferrari, Ford, Honda, Jeep, Lexus, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peformax, Subaru, Toyota and also motorcycles are at risk.
It is one of the biggest recalls in Australian history with two in every seven cars on the country’s roads being affected.
