THERE are plans for a proposed ‘winery showroom’ to be constructed next to Sega’s Bakery on High Street, Heathcote.
Plans were for it to be a building used to accommodate a group of small tenants in mixed businesses but Bate Design Strategies has put forward an application to the City of Greater Bendigo to use the area for single tenants for a winery showroom.
James Bate, from Bate Design Strategies, said a few minor details still had to be ticked off.
“The brand value of the wineries around there has boomed over the last couple of years so we see this as a strong business proposition and a nice precinct for the main street,” Mr Bate said.
“Our plan is to have a little something next to the bakery there, it has a pathway that leads up to the hospital too so we are planning on having that to be used by people from the hospital and they can make their way down to the main street.
“We just need to tick off a few last things on the planning approval – there are a few heritage things that need to be passed but we are hoping that will be done in the near future.”
“If the price is right for our client then hopefully by the end of March early April we can start to push forward with the idea.”
Mr Bate thanked the City of Greater Bendigo for their patience throughout the planning stages.
