FOOTBALL and netball clubs in and around Heathcote will be in the running for a financial boost after the state government announced a new round of grants.
The funding of up to $100,000 can be put towards any upgrade of the grounds or facilities at the club.
In 2017, four clubs benefited from the grants, with Cohuna Football Netball Club walking away with $100,000, Merbein Football Netball Club also $100,000, Sea Lake & Nandaly Football Netball Club $80,000 and Pyramid Hill Football Netball Club $70,000.
Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp urged local clubs to apply for these grants.
“Footy and netball clubs are the heart and soul of Northern Victoria. We’re giving them the facilities they need to grow and attract more members than ever before,” Mr Gepp said.
“Regional Victoria is home to some of our top football and netball leagues, and these clubs have bred some of our nation’s greatest champions.”
Since the program was launched in 2005 more than $26 million has been supplied throughout Victoria to help local football and netball clubs with new projects in mind.
Applications for the Country Football and Netball Program are now open and close on 12 April 2018 — for more information or to apply online, visit sport.vic.gov.au
