Police seize cannabis plants in Mia Mia

DURING a doorknock, Heathcote police found and seized two cannabis plants from a property in Mia Mia.

The officers were seeking information from residents regarding an assault which took place on January 15 in Mia Mia when a male assaulted another male and was remanded in custody. The police were questioning the resident when two plants were spotted in the resident’s back yard, the resident confirmed he was the owner of the plants.

■POLICE are asking anyone who may have seen a white ute performing burnouts around town to contact the Heathcote station to provide information. At 9.30pm on January 27 police received a call stating a white ute was performing burnouts and had sparks coming out the back. The vehicle had blown a tyre and left the scene however police were able to follow the damage on the road surface back to a residence where a 26-year-old male was questioned and the car impounded. It is believed he was the driver. He appeared at the Heathcote police station the next day for questioning.
