THE forecast is looking bright for Heathcote on March 9.
The ever-popular meteorologist and weather presenter Jane Bunn will be coming to town to speak.
Jane will be appearing at the Heathcote and District Community Bank’s annual farmers’ lunch at the Heathcote RSL Hall, from 10am, and will provide valuable information on weather predictions for Heathcote and the wider region.
The seminar is open to all people involved in the agricultural industry, which includes the beef industry, sheep and wool, viticulture, horticulture and cropping.
The event will also include speakers on livestock nutrition and feeding methods as well as information on farm management deposits and equipment financing.
“After the success of last year’s inaugural event we’re very excited to be able to offer this value-packed follow up,” Heathcote and District Community Bank branch manager Michael Prowse said
“We expect to have farmers attend from a wide area including Nagambie, Kilmore, Lancefield, Romsey, Kyneton, Redesdale, Elmore, Colbinabbin and Rushworth.
“These areas cover a wide range of agricultural activities and the information presented will be useful for farmers as they plan for the future.”
The community bank has strong support from local groups on the day.
The Heathcote Film Festival will show two short films that will be of interest to farmers and the Lions Club of Heathcote will be cooking up lunch to be served at the end of proceedings.
There will also be local beer and wine tasting and a few trade stalls.
“We see it as important to provide good quality information and support to our local agricultural industry and this is one way we can do it,” Mr Prowse said.
“Everyone with an interest is welcome on the day, it is free of charge and there might even be a cold beer at the end.”
