THE Heathcote Historical Lock-Up and Police Residence Museum is up and running and open for business.
The museum is based at the Camp Hill Historic Precinct and is host to historic police barracks, gold office, courthouse, communications, lockup, stables, store rooms and living quarters all accessible for just a gold coin donation.
Elizabeth Murfitt from the Camp Hill Historic Precinct said the items are continuing to roll in to the museum.
“We have a lot of new items donated from local families that I am beginning to sort through now. You can just go through and pick out names, names you know and names that you don’t — it really is quite interesting.”
The museum will be open on Australia Day, as well as Labor Day on March 5 and also across Easter weekend (except Easter Sunday).
