Cricketers win on forfeit

December 21, 2017

HEATHCOTE Cricket Club has been afforded an extra week’s break over Christmas/New Year courtesy of a forfeit on Saturday.

In the last round before the festive break, Calivil was unable to field a side which saw Heathcote awarded the points.

It was not the only forfeit on the weekend in the Northern United Cricket Association. Colbinabbin was also unable to field a side against Goornong. It was the second week in a row Colbinabbin has had to forfeit.

In the games that were played, Bagshot (7/156) had a big win over Dingee (89) while undefeated top side Elmore’s power batting line-up (3/276) was too much for Raywood (89).

The results means Heathcote remains in fourth spot on the ladder.

Teams return on January 6 next year for a round of Twenty20 matches with the final on January 13. Then it’s back into the regular home and away season on January 27 which sees Heathcote travel to Bagshot.
