HEATHCOTE’S Molly McLean recently shone at the School Sport Australia Pacific School Games in Adelaide.

The talented young golfer was among the top four girls to qualify for the Victorian Junior State Team, with her under 12 girls team taking out bronze in the Brenda Carnavas Shield.

Molly also worked hard in the Craig Parry Shield, helping her team scoop bronze in the under 12 mixed comp.

The daughter of golf pro Craig McLean, Molly’s dad said the love of golf was in the blood.

‘‘She’s been playing since she could walk,’’ he said.

‘‘This whole experience has been so special for her. She’s made so many lifelong friends, sharing an experience like this.’’

And at just 11 years old, Molly has many more years of competing ahead of her.

‘‘She’s hoping to come back next year and have another crack at the under 12 competition,’’ Craig said.

‘‘Plus she has a few more events coming up across Victoria.’’
