A TEAM from Heathcote’s 3523 Fitness Centre recently got their hands — and their entire bodies — dirty at the Brumby Run in Echuca.

The six, eight or 12km event, held at Echuca’s Billabong Ranch, featured 30-plus obstacles designed to test people both mentally and physically.

3523’s Amber Tavinor said it was a fantastic team-building event for the 18 members involved.

‘‘We had people that hadn’t run that much before they took this on. Others had never stepped foot in a gym before they began training for this event,’’ she said.

‘‘It was all about starting together and finishing together — there were no winners or losers. The stronger members of the team assisted those who were struggling.’’

The course included mud crawls, monkey bars, rope climbs and dam-crossings.

The team is now training for the Mad Cow Run in Shepparton in March.

‘‘A lot of people use these runs as a training focus — it gives them something tangible to work towards, while being encouraged by a team,’’ Amber said.
