CALLING all budding cooks, keen gardeners, flourishing artists, busy knitters, delicate flower arrangers, poultry fanciers, and livestock lovers – it’s almost show time.
The Heathcote Show is on this Melbourne Cup day and there’s a chance for everyone to get the gold as winners are picked across livestock, arts, crafts and horse categories.
A major change for this year is to the arts and craft competition as the judging will take place the day before the show - so don't delay your crochet.
All entries will need to be delivered to the showgrounds by midday on Monday, November 6.
Show society vice-president Brett Mathieson said the change brings Heathcote into line with other shows.
“It means there’s more time for the judging itself and the pavilion will be open first thing on show day,” he said.
The show office will be open in the guide hall from Tuesday, October 31 at 9am until 4.30pm.
It will be open daily from 9am to 4.30pm until Friday, November 3, and on Saturday, November 4 from 9am to midday.
These hours may change, please check the website for more details.
Competition schedules are now available at www.heathcoteshow.wordpress.com or from the post office, newsagency, visitor information centre, council offices and Heathcote Rural Merchandise.
