Police have appealed for public help in finding a speeding driver who evaded them in Heathcote on Monday.

POLICE are hunting for an erratic driver who dodged them in Heathcote on Monday.

Senior Constable Stewart Probst said police attempted to stop a black Commodore sedan just south of the police station about 1.30pm when it sped off along High St.

‘‘It’s taken off erratically, past the IGA, in excess of 100km/h in a 50km/h zone,’’ he said.

‘‘There were heaps of people around, so it was very dangerous.’’

Snr Constable Probst appealed to the public for help.

‘‘Two males were in the car and they headed north,’’ he said.

‘‘If anyone got a good description of the vehicle or has video or dashcam footage, could they please contact me.’’

People can contact Snr Constable Probst at Heathcote police on 54333711.
