COLBINABBIN Netball Club A grade has made the grand final of the Heathcote and District Netball League.

The senior girls had a good win over a very determined Mount Pleasant side in the preliminary final at Elmore Recreation Reserve on Saturday, 50-46.

The Colbo girls came out of the blocks firing, with a strong first five minutes setting them up for the rest of the game.

A handy seven-goal lead gave coach Liz Cobbledick a bit of breathing room to try some different combinations, highlighting to everyone watching the game just how versatile the Hoppers outfit can be.

Emma Eggleston played a pivotal role in the midcourt, driving hard and feeding beautifully into the goalers.

The girls look forward to a tough game in the grand final this weekend, having learnt a lot from their finals loss to White Hills last weekend.

The Hoppers will get another shot at the Demon’s in the big dance at Tint-a-Car Oval, White Hills, on Saturday and it’s set to be a cracker.

The preliminary final at Elmore saw the under 17s play one of their greatest games yet against Leitchville-Gunbower.

The Bombers had the lead at quarter time, but some strong defence from Georgia Waters, Harper Pearson and Zara Myers put pressure on every pass, creating countless turnovers.

The girls fought hard every minute which resulted in the underdogs coming away with a two-point win over the top side, 42-40.

Good luck to the girls next week in the grand final.

Best on went to Georgia Waters and Harper Pearson.

B-reserve just missed out on a place in the grand final, unfortunately going down to Mount Pleasant by 36 goals in the preliminary final, 18-54.

Mount Pleasant had gone in to the game as favourites, winning both their encounters in the home and away rounds, and were again stronger on the day.
