PRELIMINARY survey works are underway in areas of Heathcote as part of Coliban Water’s Heathcote Sewer Scheme Project.

The $5.8 million project will expand the local sewer network and ensure more of the Heathcote community receive safe and environmentally friendly sewerage services.

General manager of service delivery and infrastructure Neville Pearce said residents in affected areas received formal notification earlier this month about the proposed alignment and survey works.

“We also held a Your Town session in July, providing an opportunity for the community to find out more about the project and provide feedback,” he said.

“This consultation and feedback has helped form the outline we now have for the proposed sewerage system.

“The next step is to undertake preliminary survey work that will provide more detailed information about the land, vegetation and underground services that are within the vicinity of the potential pipeline alignments.”

The sewer scheme extension will take in parts of Bennett St, Redleaf Close and the Argyle area in Heathcote.
