ON WEDNESDAY August 2 six fearless ladies vied for Wednesday’s monthly medal event and putting trophies with Dawn Hudson and Daphne Hall dominating the play.
Dawn Hudson’s round of 107-35-72 secured her the monthly medal with the runner-up Daphne Hall on 112-38-74.
Dawn took out the NTP 2nd shot 18th while Daphne’s 32 precise putts resulted in her winning the Grace Plane award.
Thursday, August 3: Fourteen men played in the Thursday stableford event.
Daniel Pianta again demonstrated his mastery of the cold and wet, posting 39 points to be a clear winner on the day.
Ball winners were Adrian King 36, Stephen Hudson 35 and Kent Davies 35.
Garry Boyes displayed his own mastery of the sublime and ridiculous, winning the encouragement award with 31 point, scoring a par ball on the 18th and also taking out that NTP and superpin.
Saturday, August 5: The inclement weather continued into the weekend and the four ladies who braved the elements called it a day after nine holes.
Margaret Sims was the winner with 18 points from Dot Trott on 17.
The men’s monthly medal attracted 20 starters including two visitors.
Murray Green played his best competition round at Heathcote to take out his first medal with 89-22-67.
Great work Murray.
Ball winners were: Ian Furneaux 70, Brian Davis 71, Greg Long 71, Adrian Goudie 72, Larry Maxwell 74 and David Clouston 74.
Birdie balls went to David Clouston (13th and 16th) and Garry Boyes (18th).
A par ball went to Alan Healy.
NTPs were David Clouston (13th and 16th) and at the 18th hole, Kent Davies won A grade and superpin with the B grade going to Adrian King.
David Morris took out the encouragement award with 112-21-91 but a big finish won him the 18th hole C grade NTP and a par ball.
The 60th Golf Central Victoria district mixed championship was at Inglewood.
Winners of the scratch Pinehurst event with a fine 1 over par 71 were Ian Frost and Tristen Wearne.
The pair finished their round with just 20 putts aided by a chip in on the 18th hole.
Well played Ian and Tristen.
