A Heathcote man charged with shaking his baby daughter to death will face a new trial next year after jurors were unable to reach a verdict in March.

THE new trial of a Heathcote man accused of shaking his baby daughter to death has been postponed until next year.

The matter of Joby Anthony Rowe, 24, has been adjourned to December 14, with the trial not expected to start until the new year.

Rowe has pleaded not guilty to one count of child homicide following the death of his daughter, Alanah Rowe, in Heathcote in 2015.

Jurors were unable to reach a verdict after spending three days locked in deliberations when his trial concluded in late March.
