Huntly proved too strong against Heathcote's Under-12 Juniors football team during their grading match.

IT WAS beautiful sunny conditions on Saturday for Heathcote’s Under-12 Juniors football team to face off against Huntly in their last grading match.

Thomas Johnson, Blake Maiden and Damon Ryan-May were under pressure from the start with Huntly constantly pushing forward.

Taylor Maiden stepped up and made some impressive attempts at quashing Huntly’s efforts.

Ryan Foster and Brayden Ferguson were roving well but Huntly overturned the ball well enough to score two goals for the quarter.

It was the Seth Creevey show in the second quarter. He was on fire and had great support from James Pringle and Callum Devine applying tackle after tackle.

However, the opposition’s direct kicking resulted in three more goals.

Heathcote fired in the third quarter showing great determination, Niklas Hansson making a cracking comeback to the club for his first game of the year.

Harrison Ferguson pushed forward during the final quarter and with Seth Creevey having the game of his life they had the crowd roaring!

Johnson had a lot to be proud of in the ruck with onballer Fergo and Foster never giving up.

There was excellent tackling from the players but unfortunately their efforts weren’t converted on the scoreboard.

Coach’s Award: Seth Creevey

Club Award: Ryan Foster

Jaime Johnson Plumbing Award: Taylor Maiden

Scores: Huntly 12.15 (87) to Heathcote 0.0 (0)
