PROMISING a day of fun and fundraising, Pyalong Neighbourhood House will host an event as part of the Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.
Held on Thursday May 25, the day will include trading tables, quizzes and raffles, with proceeds going towards tackling cancer.
“So many people have been touched by cancer – whether they have had it, or a close friend or loved one has,” coordinator Belinda Osmond said.
“It’s so important we do what we can to raise money for further research.”
The fundraising morning tea is in its eighth year at Pyalong Neighbourhood House.
“I am confident the community will support the event as always,” Ms Osmond said.
“We’ve already gone from raising $300 in our first year to $1800.
“Last year a group of workmen who were out the front heard what we were doing, and they forked out money on the spot.
“People have been so generous.”
Ms Osmond said the volunteers at the house were vital in seeing the day come to fruition.
‘‘We couldn’t do any of it without their help.’’
The event will start at 10am, and will cost $5 each.
