COLBINABBIN Football Club’s seniors really turned it on under lights in their Good Friday game against Mt Pleasant – winning by a handsome 41 points in front of a big crowd.
Despite a scrappy start the Hoppers came out firing after half-time and if they had kicked straighter to make the most of their dominance around the ground the margin would have been much bigger.
Will Morrow was dazzling in a best-on-ground display, Sam Vale racked up a tone of possessions and new recruit Nat Nixon showed he will be a key player with his silky foot skills and powerful marking.
And the Lady Hoppers made it a winning double for the club with a strong seven-goal win on the netball court.
That backs up their tough round one win of Leitchville-Gunbower.
The Hoppers’ defensive pressure down the court was their biggest strength and something coach Annie Cobbledick said had been spoken about ahead of the game.
