Case sizzles on course

David Clouston was back in form winning A grade with 39.

Saturday's weather was hot yet again but so was Jan Case at Heathcote Golf Club, posting a sizzling 41 points.

That included a lovely birdie on the 8th. Very well played Jan! The other four ladies could but watch the winner collect all of the trophies.

The men’s event on Saturday was a stableford and GOTY event and 24 players competed in the three grades.

David Clouston was back in form winning A grade with 39.

Greg Long was the B grade winner with 38 and Martin Sims took out C grade with 36.

Ball winners were Mitchell Hogg with 36 and Stephen Hudson on 34.

NTPs went to Kent Davies (13th), David Clouston (16th) plus the 18th hole A grade. Phil Coleman won the 18th hole B grade and superpin. Terry Shiels on 22 was the encouragement award winner.

On Wednesday, February 8, the ladies had a good field of 13 competing in a stableford event. Helen Carlin played well to compile 37 in A and B grade to just edge out the runner-up Regina Driver with 36.

Margaret Sims, showing the benefit of a little professional instruction, won C and D grade on a c/b from Joyce Safstrom both on 35pts.

NTP 2nd shot 18th hole was taken out by Jan Case.

Thursday February 9: This was a stableford competition on a very hot day and 11 brave men arrived to do battle.

Phil Coleman won the endurance contest with 39pts on a c/b from the ball winners Tony Hunter 39, Steven Ryan 36, Stephen Hudson 36 and Brian Davis 36. Son Quach took out NTP.
